2018 End of Year Book Survey

We have said goodbye to 2018 and 2019 is just beginning, which means it's time to look back and reflect on the year in terms of the books we've read! Book counts are starting to be tallied up, favorites, least favorites, how many you may have DNFed, etc. This survey in particular was created by The Perpetual Page Turner and I highly recommend checking out her blog! Although I have only participated in one or two of these, this is the ninth one she's created!

Let's jump into my answers! I will add covers wherever it permits but if you're interested in my in depth thoughts I will link my reviews along with the Amazon and Goodreads lists. All of these books may not have published in 2018 but I read them in 2018! I also skipped some questions that I didn't have answer for (so check out the link above for the full list if you plan on doing it!) and if a book was my answer for more than one I'm going to bunch them together.

Favorite Post You Wrote in 2018?
Best Bookish Even You Participated In?
This is a hard one but  I had to pick this one! It was so much fun to write! I am hoping to do more posts in 2019 where  I visit different bookstores in my area and write about my experiences. I liked being able to compile pictures of the day and have a bit of a diary like entry about it as a whole. Plus, it's one of my favorite events I've been going to for like five years now. So I bet there will be a 2019 version also.

Favorite Bookish Related Photos You Took in 2018?
I have been venturing out in taking more photos versus using covers or making cover photos for my book reviews. It's much more fun and honestly easier. If you're interested in following my Instagram, I'll link it here. I love this Coraline photo that I took but I have been loving a lot of the photos I've been taking lately. I like using natural lighting and areas around my apartment. Once winter gets bad I have no idea what I'll do haha.

Best moment of bookish/blogging life in 2018?
Becoming friend with Sarah Glenn Marsh, someone who has been such a good friend and I just love her so much! She is the sweetest person I have ever met and one of the most talented storytellers. Her heart is so big and I am so grateful to have met her. I cannot wait to meet her IRL hopefully in 2019!! I will always be pushing everyone to read her Reign of the Fallen duology and probably anything else she publishes.

Most challenging thing about blogging or your reading life this year?
When it comes to blogging and reading it hasn't been a challenging year actually. I took off a big chunk of time from blogging in November and part of December because of NaNoWriMo, and then I was having some technical difficulties which made me a bit low when it came to blogging and even reading. But I just took the time  I needed, fixed what had to be fixed, and everything seems fine now.

Most Popular Post This Year On Your  Blog?
In this post I talk about some authors I decided that I was done with. Whether that be because I outgrew them, they said or did something I don't want to support, or I am just not into their writing and done giving them anymore chances.

Post You Wished Got A Little More Love?

Did you complete any reading challenges of goals that you set for yourself at the beginning of this year?
  • I participated in The BookTube-A-Thon and that was so much fun!
  • In the beginning of the year I told myself I would take a year off Goodreads because I didn't like their new rules and policies with giveaways. I did that, and now I am slowly getting back on it. I decided that the year off was really good and it helped me not be so obsessed about numbers so hopefully I will only use it for documenting my progress and that's all. I don't plan on participating with giveaways and will be on the website as little as possible.
  • I also told myself I wouldn't focus on numbers, and I think I did fairly good at that. I am proud of the amount of books/pages I read and I tackled some big books & series I was putting off for so long because they either didn't complete a reading challenge or were too big and would take up too much time. I hope to do that more in the future because it was so rewarding. Instead of focusing on making a quota for the year or finishing a challenge I was able to jut read what I felt like reading in the moment.
