January Wrap-Up

This is where I talk about how the month went for me when it came to reading and some events that maybe sparked me to read more (or stopped me from reading as much as I wanted to). I also link all the reviews I did in the month, discuss my plans for the following month, non-book things I've enjoyed, and give updates of my life. This year I have decided that I am not making a big deal on how many books I read or letting myself feel any guilt for the amount I didn't read.

Life Updates

I have been kind of burying myself in books this month. Mental health has been up and down and when it gets bad I have been distracting myself with reading. I have started to edit my NaNoWriMo book. I am hoping to keep doing that in February and hopefully that'll help me because writing is therapeutic. Plus I am still hoping to be able to have my story completely finished by the end of the year, and I've basically skipped an entire month so I really don't want to fall behind.

I've also successfully not used Goodreads for any reviewing or reading challenge. If you want to know why I have decided to quit Goodreads click here for that post. I have been using BookThinkers and I've been loving it. I am really excited because February is the month the app should be launching!! If you have an account, or plan to, please click here to add me!

Plans for February

Last year for February I tried to read only romance books. And honestly it didn't go well, so I am just going to read what is on my TBR. I am currently reading Heartless by Marissa Meyer and really enjoying it. I also have The Power by Naomi Alderman, Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor, and Renegades by Marissa Meyer. I have also requested Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng but that has quite a long list of people so it may take a while. I also have won a pre-order for The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton that will be in my mailbox either on or around the release date (2.06.18) and I plan on reading that basically as soon as it shows up. Other than that we will see what I decide to pick up!

I hope you had a good January. If you're in colder climates I hope you're staying warm.

Thanks for reading!

  1. Yay for enjoying Heartless!! I didn't really like it, nor Renegades, but I hope you enjoy them more than I did. Also, yay for The Belles!! I'm dying to read that book, it looks amazing. Can't wait to hear your thoughts!

Are you enjoying Gossip Girl?! Who're your favourite characters? I love Blair and Nate.

Hope Feb is a great month for you, and that you get to write a lot <3

  2. I love your graphic :) It makes me think of the Camp NaNoWriMo badges lol. Many of your books are on my TBR. I, too, attempted NaNoWriMo. Unfortunately, I did nothing with it. So, I am taking April off from blogging and doing the Camp NaNo. Hopefully, I will end up with a first draft. Looks like you had a pretty good January, though :) Good luck as the year progresses and I would love to hear more about your writing!
