[Book Review] City of Glass by Cassandra Clare

City of Glass by Cassandra Clare is the third book in the Mortal Instruments series. Our main character, Clary Fray has to go to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of Shadowhunters, to save her mother's life. She learns a lot about her past, her family's past, and the ones she loves. She is trying to figure out how to save her mother, stop the big baddie, Valentine, and figure out her feelings for Jace. I did do reviews for the previous two books in this series, so here is my review for City of Bones and City of Ashes.

[Book Review] City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare

City of Ashes is the second installment of The Mortal Instruments series, so I don't want to go too much in detail of the plot of this book in order not to spoil City of Bones. City of Ashes starts off right where it's predecessor ended and in my opinion was a much better book. It's hard not to go into too much details, but for the readers who haven't had the chance to pick up this series yet and may be planning on it, this book actually surprised me with how much I enjoyed it. It was just as action packed, witty, and easy to get addicted to the story. The writing even improved, which was one of my main problems with City of Bones. I definitely think that if City of Bones wasn't a favorite of yours, giving City of Ashes a chance may be a good idea because I think it improved greatly. I can't say if it will consistently improve as you keep reading the series, but City of Ashes was definitely a good sign. I do plan on reading the next book in the series.

City of Bones is a well loved urban fantasy series about our main character Clary Fray who is thrown into this world that coexists with our own without us knowing. She learns about Shadowhunters, assassins trained to kill demons, and she also learns that vampires, werewolves, faeries, and many other dark myths are real. If you've been around the YA bookish world for a while you know about this series, not only because of its fan-base but also because of the few spinoff series that have branched off The Mortal Instruments series, the movie, and the television show.
