Question:
Is there a fictitious town in a book that you would love to live in? What makes it appealing? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver's Reviews)
Answer:
I obviously have Hogwarts, which I guess isn't a town but a building. But there are a lot of fantasy worlds I would love to live in. I don't read many contemporary books with fictional towns or cities, it's normally fictional worlds. And a lot of the fictional worlds are a bit harsh, but if I could avoid a good chunk of the crazy drama happening in the story line I wouldn't mind living in those worlds! Some worlds I'd love to live in: Wonderland (Alice's Adventures in Wonderland), Neverland (Peter Pan), The Shire (Lord of the Rings - still haven't read it, but I have seen the movies), Narnia (Chronicles of Narnia), Hundred Acre Woods (Winnie the Pooh), and many many others! I think these places are appealing to me because they're either super unique and seem like a lot of fun or it's a comfort/nostalgic thing for me.
Great options. I've read many of those books but none of them make me want to be part of their worlds. Maybe I'm stuck in the contemporary world?
ReplyDeleteMaybe! I am someone who reads fantasy type novels often to escape from the world we live in, so the idea of living in that world just makes me excited. I honestly couldn't really think of a literary contemporary world I'd want to live in!
DeleteThanks for reading :)
Heather I am pretty much the same. I love taking myself to other places that isn't the mundane life Lol I'm glad I'm not the only one.
DeleteGood choices.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Thank you! :)
DeleteThose are great answers! I definitely agree - a lot of fictional worlds can seem pretty hectic if you're aught up in all the drama of them. Though, if I could avoid that - at least half of the time - I would love to be able to experience so many worlds and towns for themselves. I would love to live at Hogwarts too - that's definitely been a popular choice this week!
ReplyDeletePersonally, I would love to experience Henrietta from The Raven Cycle series because it sounds so mysterious and magical. There are definitely a lot of secrets to be discovered.
If you're at all interested, I posted my own answer over on my own blog as well. I love to hear feedback, so let me know what you think if you're willing! http://inkblottings.com/book-blogger-hop-april-13th-fictional-towns/
Thank you either way and thank you for sharing your answers, they're definitely well thought out and insightful! :)
Ooooh I have had the Raven Cycle series on my TBR for so long. I am hoping to possibly binge read them this Autumn/Winter (if I end up liking them of course!)
DeleteI will most definitely check out your answer! Thank you so much for stopping by mine :D

DeleteWonderland and Neverland are two places where they look pretty on the outside but are very mysterious and creepy on the inside! ;)
