[Book Blogger Hop] May 10-16th: Favorite Classic Novel

Book Blogger Hop's purpose is to give bloggers a chance to discover and follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend bloggers, and gain followers. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on Thursday where there will be a weekly prompt following a bookish question.

Question:

Do you have a favorite classic? When did you read it? High school or as an adult? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver's Reviews)

Answer:

Neither! I read my favorite classic as a kid, it was the first book I read by myself that I can remember, which is Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll! It's still my favorite book, ever, and I try to read it as often as I can. It's a fairly quick read and it makes me so happy. I am not sure what it is about Alice's story but it fills me with happiness.

However, if we are talking classics that are taught in schools I would have to say my favorite is either Fahrenheit 451 or To Kill A Mockingbird. The first I read in high school, the second I read as an adult a few years ago!

What about you, which classic is your favorite? If you have one.

Thanks for reading!

  1. I just love Alice & Wonderland, I was able to study it in middle school. I love that she is just a regular girl but she enters the land & has a life changing experience. Was it all in her head or did she go to an actual place?? Oh the possibilities!

    1. Alice is my favorite!! I LOVE the idea that it could have been real or in her head and that is up to the reader. I think that is also why I love the Wayward Children by Seanan McGuire so much because it's about kids who come back from magical worlds like Wonderland and all they want to do is go back.

  2. Awww Alice's Adventures in Wonderland - SO SWEET! I read that for the first time myself not long ago, and really enjoyed it. Carroll was so clever with his wordplay, and that just doesn't come across in the film adaptations, reading it is a MUST. And I'm not sure I could possibly pick one favourite classic - I've loved so many, for so many different reasons. But one of the first that I sought out for myself and really loved was Madame Bovary - not a terribly popular pick, I know, but it was just the right book for me at the time, and I still love it now.

    1. YES! It's like it is it's own weird nonsense language and I absolutely love it so much. I don't read/enjoy many classics so it was an easy choice for me. Thank you so much for stopping by!
