[Top 5 Wednesday] Non-Western World Books

It's time for this week's Top Five Wednesday! This has been created by gingerreadslainey and it also has a Goodreads group. I am hoping to do these posts (or other weekly Wednesday posts) more often as long as I am interested in the current prompt! This week's prompt I am discussing five books that are not set in any America or Western Europe.

Perfect Imperfections by Taryn Leigh (South Africa)
This book is set in South Africa, it is about a woman who leaves her life in London and goes back to her home country of South Africa to live with her best friend. It's a really sweet story about love and friendship.

Fortress of Blood by L.D. Goffigan (Transylvania)
This is the second book in the Mina Murray series, this one is fully set in Transylvania (the first one starts off in London) and it's a Dracula retelling.

Tiger's Curse by Collen Houck (India)
This is about a girl who goes to India to take of a tiger called Ren she's grown really attached to after taking care of it at a circus. It has romance and adventure. I had some issues with this book as a whole, but I own the second one and plan on reading it soon so be prepared for a review!

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor (Prague)
This book series is a beautiful one, and although the setting skips quite a lot, it starts off in Prague. This story has a lot of really magical elements to it and there's a romance. This series is one of my favorites of all time, it's gorgeous.

Ring by Kōji Suzuki (Japan)
This is the book that the famous horror movie The Ring was based off of. If you haven't heard of it, it's about a tape that when you watch it you're informed by a creepy ghost girl that you only have seven days to live. It's a great horror book (and movie! although they are really different) and I highly recommend it.

Thanks for reading!

Do you have any recommendations for books not set in America or Western Europe ?
