Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish but is currently being run by That Artsy Reader Girl. A prompt is given each week, and I hope to do it every week so I always have something going up on Tuesdays. This week we are talking about resolutions! It's officially 2018 which means it's time for some resolutions! Each year I try to make reasonable resolutions for myself, and I feel like I have done a good job keeping up with them. In this post I will first discuss my goals from last year and see if I was successful in sticking with my reading goals from 2017. Then I will list resolutions for my reading, my writing, and my blogging. These are the three things I feel like most of my focus will be going to in the next year, and I am hoping by the end of the year I feel like I have read a lot of great books, have finished my first novel, and I have improved and expanded my blog.

NaNoWriMo: Week Four & Wrap Up!
NaNoWriMo is over for the year 2017 and here are all my thoughts and feelings on how the final week and month as a whole went for me! For anyone who is unsure what NaNoWriMo is, it's a yearly challenge where you're encouraged to write 50K words in a month because that evens out to a short novel length. So you're basically writing a book in a month. Each day the goal is to write 1,667 words a day till the end. I have been participating in NaNoWriMo for seven years now but I have only "won" (which means I wrote 50K in the month, it's not an actual contest to win a prize. The prize is your novel.) three times. So it's challenging, but I am taking it more seriously. For more information I recommend checking out their website, www.nanowrimo.org.

NaNoWrimo: Week One Updates!
The season of NaNoWriMo is upon us! Each week I plan on updating on how I have been doing, my story progress, and my experience as a whole. For anyone who is unsure what NaNoWriMo is, it's a yearly challenge where you're encouraged to write 50K words in a month because that evens out to a short novel length. So you're basically writing a book in a month. Each day the goal is to write 1,667 words a day till the end. The prize is your novel.) three times. So it's challenging, but I am taking it more seriously. For more information I recommend checking out their website, www.nanowrimo.org.
So, let's get into how this first week of 2017's NaNoWriMo was for me!

[Book Review] On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft by Stephen King
"Long live the King," hailed "Entertainment Weekly" upon the publication of Stephen King's "On Writing." Part memoir, part master class by one of the bestselling authors of all time, this superb volume is a revealing and practical view of the writer's craft, comprising the basic tools of the trade every writer must have. King's advice is grounded in his vivid memories from childhood through his emergence as a writer, from his struggling early career to his widely reported, near-fatal accident in 1999 -- and how the inextricable link between writing and living spurred his recovery. Brilliantly structured, friendly and inspiring, "On Writing" will empower and entertain everyone who reads it -- fans, writers, and anyone who loves a great story well told.

2017 Reading Goals
These are twelve reading goals I really want to accomplish this year. The overall theme of this year is for me to try my absolute hardest not to get so caught up in how many books I have completed so I don't get caught up in a reading slump and lose interest in reading for months at a time (which happened in 2016 twice). I am hoping to feel satisfied at the end of the year with most of the books I have stacked waiting for me already read and it will feel a bit like spring cleaning.
