[Book Blogger Hop] March 15th-21st: NetGalley & Edelweiss

Book Blogger Hop's purpose is to give bloggers a chance to discover and follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend bloggers, and gain followers. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on Thursday where there will be a weekly prompt following a bookish question.

Question:

Do you use NetGalley, Edelweiss, both, or neither?  (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver's Reviews)

Answer:

I have used NetGalley once when I was accepted for an ARC of a book, but other than that I haven't tried for any other books yet. I am so behind with the physical and e-books I own I haven't thought of either sources too much. I'd love to use NetGalley more and look into Edelweiss though! I just don't want to ask for a bunch of books I don't even have the time to read.

How about you? Do you use either NetGalley or Edelweiss?

Thanks for reading!

  1. You are probably wise to hold back. It's easy to get sucked into both NetGalley and Edelweiss.

    1. I have heard that it is easy to get overwhelmed!! I already put so much unneeded pressure on myself so I definitely try to be more careful with ARC reviews!

  2. Edelweiss is difficult to use, imo. It's wise to keep their use to a minimum as getting landed with too many review books is real, lol.

    1. When I was trying to figure out which one to use everyone said NetGalley was easier to use so that is the one I went with! So I have heard Edelweiss is a bit of a pain to use. And yeah! I put so much pressure on making sure I review the book in time and I don't want to stress myself out haha.

  3. I enjoy both platforms. NetGalley is ridiculously easy to use. But, Edelweiss+ requires a little work to acquaint oneself with the vast amount of information available.

    1. Yeah! That is what I am hearing. I found NetGalley to be pretty easy to use. Edelweiss has always been a little daunting after hearing that it is a bit harder to use.
