[Bookish List] Books I Want Adapted

There are so many times when I read a book I cannot help but think "This would be amazing on the big (or little) screen." So I decided I would share the handful of books I think would make amazing adaptations (whether that be movie or tv) or I just would love to see them played out visually. Some of these books are in talks of becoming movies, but I am keeping them on here because unfortunately book adaptations get cancelled all the time. Here we go!

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz
This book is so sweet and important. I think it would be such a beautiful movie! This is one that has been in talks for a movie, but like a lot of book to movie deals information is scarce.

The Selection Series by Kiera Cass
I am a person who loves The Bachelor/Bachelorette (my fiancé got me into it a handful of years ago) and I think this would be so cool to see as a TV show! If you haven't heard it, it's basically a dystopian The Bachelor.

NOS4A2 by Joe Hill
This is one of the creepiest books I've ever read. I think it would be an amazing horror movie! I am a big baby and I wouldn't see it in theaters but I'd definitely Netflix it when it came out on DVD.

When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon
This would be such a cute summer romance movie. I love the characters and the story for it. I think it would be really popular. Plus, I love the idea of having an romance centered around an Indian couple because there isn't a lot of representation in the media and the more the better.

Of Fire and Stars by Audrey Coulthurst
A fantasy story with our main character who is betrothed to a prince to combine kingdoms, but instead she falls in love with the prince's sister? I would LOVE to see this kind of representation on the big screen. There are not enough diverse characters in fantasy books or movies and this is such a cute way to do it.

Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia
Although I'd want to change a part at the end, I think this story would be a great representation of mental illness and fandom culture on the big screen. I think it deals with internet and fan culture really realistically so if that is translated well on screen it would be pretty cool to see.

LumberJanes by Noelle Stevenson
I want a LumberJanes TV show so bad! It could be live action or animated I don't care. If it's animated, I assume it would be kind of like Disney's Gravity Falls and anyone who loved that show would love LumberJanes. Note: My fiancé tells me that this is also in the works! Ah!

This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab
This book is so creepy and interesting. It's one of the most unique books I have read this year, and I think it would be such an stunning and a bit of a terrifying film. The idea of fear and hatred manifesting itself into monsters is such a unique and dark topic.

Thanks for reading!
