[Book Blogger Hop] July 28th-August 3rd

Book Blogger Hop's purpose is to give bloggers a chance to discover and follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend bloggers, and gain followers. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on Thursday where there will be a weekly prompt following a bookish question.

Question:
Do you read tie-in novels to movies or television series? If so, which ones?

Answer:

I don't read many tie-in novels. I read the first Descendant's book from the Disney movie Decendant's which was a lot of fun, but other than that I don't pick up many books that are spin offs of original tv/movies. I do have my eyes on the Beauty and the Beast book that came out around the time the new movie did. I love Beauty and the Beast, but I am a bit disappointed by what I've seen so far of the the new movie. I have seen so many clips I've basically seen the whole thing. But I plan on sitting down soon and seeing it completed so I can make a full opinion. I also have my eyes on the tie-in books of Once Upon a Time, which is a show I have a love/hate relationship with.

Oh! One series I absolutely love are the spin off book series of the show Veronica Mars. Veronica Mars is one of my all time favorite shows, and both the movie that came out a handful of years ago and the books that have came out are so much fun if you love the show. I highly recommend all Veronica Mars forms of media. So so so good.

Thanks for reading!

  1. I've only seen bits of The Descendants shows but it looks really fun and I can imagine the books are great. I've only seen a few Veronica Mars episodes but those books look really good too and I loved the mysteries and characters that I saw.

    1. I recommend Veronica Mars so much!! Descendants is super cute, but a little cheesy so I understand that it isn't for everyone!

  2. Ha, I also have a bit of a love/hate thing with Once Upon a Time. It's really only Rumple (whom I love) who has kept me watching. I'm still only up to season 4 anyway; I fell a bit behind. It's sometimes hard to keep up with US shows when you live in Australia. Unless you have $$$ for DVDs, which I don't.

    1. My favorites are Snow and Charming, and news came out that they've left the show. So I'm a bit bummed :( and dang that makes sense! I assume Netflix is different for you guys too? I know it's on Netflix for us in the States!

    2. UGH! I'm still so sad about them leaving and the storyline taking a major nosedive.

    3. Yeah :( it's a mess. They're changing so much this new season so Matt and I are a little optimistic but it's a sliver. We will see.

  3. I have only watched the first season of Veronica Mars. I enjoyed it, I'm just terrible at keeping up with shows. I DO have the first VM book, but I haven't read it. (I think it's set after the movie.)

Maybe I need to make this a higher priority! ;)

    1. I highly recommend it!! It's so much fun. However you may be spoiled on the events of the other seasons. But if that doesn't bother you I say go for it! :) I also say finish the show if you can. It's amazing.
