[Book Blogger Hop] February 17-23rd

Book Blogger Hop's purpose is to give bloggers a chance to discover and follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend bloggers, and gain followers. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on Thursday where there will be a weekly prompt following a bookish question.

This is my first Book Blogger Hop post! I am obviously a day late because I learned about this today, but I plan on (hopefully) being on time every Friday to post one of these. I'm excited to see other bloggers to these prompts and I hope this helps me meet more book bloggers.

Question:
Can you read or watch TV or listen to the radio at the same time?

My response:
I normally can't read and also pay attention to other kinds of media like the TV or radio. I can read and have TV or the radio on in the background, but my focus will be completely on the book I am reading. So I don't need silence, actually I can read when there's a lot of noise around, but I can't split my focus up. I can drown out the TV pretty easily especially if I am uninterested in whatever is playing. However, the radio does make it a little harder especially if I know the song because I find myself singing the words in my head instead of focusing on the book. Which is why I like listening to movie scores without lyrics when I read because I use it as white noise.

    1. Oooh I'm super jealous haha. If I know the music/lyrics I immediately sing the song in my head. But if the music doesn't have lyrics I mostly can read without any problems.

  2. Ha! I'm pretty much the same. I have the hardest time tuning out the TV if Alex is watching a show I like, but I can tune out his video game chatter no problem!
